Redemption Rock Ranch

Where Families Rediscover Joy

Set on a working farm, Redemption Rock Ranch is a restful retreat away from the bustle of everyday life. We host families who have experienced critical illness and tragegy and offer them love, compassion and a place to rediscover their job. There is fresh air to breathe, fresh produce to eat, friendly farm animals to interact with and a great campfire replete with smores and good stories. The hydroponic farm grows enough produce to use, to fill local food pantries with the freshest produce possible, and to sell enough to reach self-sufficiency in a couple of years.

We are currently fundraising $500,000 to acquire 100 acres of beautiful farm land in Christmas Florida. Please read our business overview to learn more about who we are and how we operate. We are currently applying for 501(c)(3) status and donations will be tax deductible. Thank you for your support.

Meet David and Elea

Our daughter, Sarah, passed away with leukemia at age 7, one year after we moved to Florida. She was an amazing kid who loved God, people and swimming. She battled leukemia three separate times. In between, was a lot of at home nursing care that consumed a lot of our family time. David spent the first year in Florida learning to build websites and working from home. He got to have a lot of time with her: swimming and fishing and exploring. He cherishes every minute. We miss her.

David had testicular cancer at age 21 and again at age 47. The second time during chemo, he lost a lot of weight, the ability to walk, and almost died twice. He was in rehab for several months to relearn how to walk and still has physical therapy twice a week. This gave him a lot of time, unexpectedly, to reflect and heal. Many nights he fell asleep thinking of smores on the campfire.

Elea has struggled with severe auto-immune issues throughout her life. She survived losing her mother, her daughter and almost losing her husband. These experiences have created a lot of empathy in her heart for others. She regularly counsels others going through illness and loss.

David worked at Microsoft for 18 years and consulted at Disney World on the FastPass wristband project. He is now the co-founder of a mobile application and web software company in Orlando. He also advises startups as a mentor for i-corps at UCF and serves as CTO and advisor to dozens of the startup clients of his web agency.

Elea and David look forward to helping Redemption Rock Ranch guests rediscover joy.
